Casa Grande Dispatch: Ward stumps in CG, states her 'policy passions'

CASA GRANDE — Describing her policy passions, a U.S. Senate candidate rallied support for her campaign in Casa Grande Wednesday.

Republican Kelli Ward described four of her key “policy passions,” the causes she’s most hopeful of having a chance to influence in Washington, D.C.: securing the border, repealing the Affordable Care Act, the economy and military and veterans issues.

Ward told the Grande Valley Republican Women that securing the border with a “physical barrier that acts as a deterrent” is key to keeping Arizonans and Americans safe. She said she visited the U.S. Border Patrol stations in both the Yuma and Tucson sectors and recalled meeting a 79-year-old man who showed her how easy it was to slip through the flimsy barbed wire that separated the U.S. from Mexico in one spot.
